The rumors that circulate around Cao Cao describe him as a deviously cunning and intelligent individual who is highly resourceful in combat. He is an ambitious fellow, a realistic dreamer who believes in his grand destiny. Cao Cao is the type of individual who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Foes and friends alike both fear and respect Cao Cao. He’s a pivotal character in Chinese literature and perhaps one of the most complex historical figures of all time. Much is known about Cao Cao’s conquest of China, but not much is truly known about his character. He’s depicted as a ruthless tyrant in the original novels, but often described as a heroic yet tragic figure within other forms of media.
